For this guitarsenal, I've set my sets back to the effects chain to examine Jimmy's first tape delay, the Vox CO2 "Long Tom" Echo.
The Vox CO2 was a tape delay echo effect machine. The way a tape delay effect unit works is to record the sound through analog onto tape which is subsequently played back to create an echo effect. The speed of the tape and distance between the heads determines the levels of echo that result, and which can be modified. The unit featured a tube chassis that sounds remarkably similar to a Vox AC30 amplifier, with a a feature that allowed the echo to be turned off, allowing a preamp only output.
Jimmy had a foot-switch which allowed him to utilize this feature and had dialed in pre-set echo rates that he utilized for live shows. Jimmy used the Vox CO2 live from April 1969 until September 1970, and also for some of the Led Zeppelin II sessions.

You got a great blog - this is a must for all Page fans. One tip, you should gather and sort out all the different articles to their own classes so it's easier to find all the pageia obscuras and Page places without having to browse through dozens of pages (pun not intended) ;)
