Jimmy Page: "I’ll Definitely Be Doing an Album"

In an interview with BBC 6, Jimmy Page has given weight to the notion that we haven't seen the last of him. Though he has consistently waved off the idea of a full on Led Zeppelin reunion, it appears he has other plans in the works.

“I’m starting to work next year, to be seen to be playing live. I’ll definitely be doing an album at that point in time. Adding, “I want to be playing – I want to be out there playing. That’s what you’ll understand from seeing this.”

This statement is in line with another he had given a few days earlier when he told Static Multimedia, "Well, I just, yeah there’s a few bits and pieces to come. Uhm… and then, yeah I should be off doing solo projects. And we’ll see what I manage to pull together under those circumstances. But I had some really ambitious ideas. But actually they certainly weren’t cost effective. (laughing) But we’ll see how it all comes out. Then I’ll talk to you again about what those ideas were and how it all actually, how it finalized, the actual thinking process behind things…

This isn't the first time Page has made such pronouncements, but hopefully with "Celebration Day" and other archival projects behind him, he can now focus on producing new music and playing it for live audiences. I know millions of people are dying to see new music from Jimmy, and watch him play it in a live setting.
