ABC Trust Charity Auctioning Off One of Only 3 Custom Led Zeppelin Martin D-28 Guitars

From The Action For Brazil's Children:

The ABC Trust is proud to present this exceptional, limited edition Martin D-28 Marquis guitar to the public. As one of only 3 in the world, it is almost unique and must be an important addition to any rock fan's collection.
'
The guitar is custom made by the C. F. Martin Guitar Company Custom Shop - it has been inlayed with Led Zeppelin symbols by Tracey Cox, one of Martin's most talented artists, and overseen by Dick Boak, Paul Hammond and Christopher Thomas, ensuring that the finest aspects of the Martin tradition have been honored and protected.

The guitar will be addressed to and signed for the winning bidder by Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page.

All money raised from this auction will go to the Action for Brazil's Children's Trust, a charity dedicated to helping the street children and most vulnerable young people of Brazil. By raising awareness and funding, ABC supports the work of local, community-led organizations who give children the education, support and inspiration they need to transform their lives.

This unique guitar was created by the Martin Guitar Company (Custom Shop) and by one of Martin's most talented inlay artists, Tracy Cox, who has inlayed it with Led Zeppelin symbols, working in concert with JR Warner, Paul Hammond, Dick Boak and Christopher Thomas.

The Martin D-28 Marquis Acoustic Guitar is a lovingly crafted Indian rosewood version of the discontinued D-28GE. Crafted to evoke the same powerful tone and sonorous projection as a pre-WWII D-28, the guitar differs only by using Indian, instead of Brazilian, rosewood, as the latter is both very scarce and considered endangered.

Only premium-grade, solid Indian rosewood has been used for the back and sides, with a solid Adirondack spruce top, scalloped Adirondack spruce braces and forward-shifted X-bracing. A special aging toner gives the wood a vintage countenance.
The result: rich, powerful sounds from a remarkable and beautiful instrument.
